Summer Afternoon on Plum Island, Massachusetts
Hey Everyone, I am sharing photos from a Summer Afternoon on Plum Island, Massachusetts that I spent this past July, 2017 (7/26/2017) on a road trip to New England that I made with my daughter and our French cousin Lucille when I was 7 months pregnant with my son Marc.
We spent the day with 2 of my nieces and this was our last stop. We watched the sun set from the beach and the kids played while I walked and snapped photos.
Plum Island is a truly magical place, being there is like being transported to what the the New England shoreline may have looked like before it was settled hundreds of years ago. The birds and wildlife abounds and the views are easy on the eyes.
As quoted from Wikipedia about Plum Island:
Plum Island is a barrier island located off the northeast coast of Massachusetts, north of Cape Ann, in the United States. It is approximately 11 miles (18 km) in length. The island is named for the wild beach plum shrubs that grow on its dunes. It is located in parts of four municipalities in Essex County. From north to south they are the city of Newburyport, and the towns of Newbury, Rowley, and Ipswich.
Enjoy the photos (there are so many! It was so beautiful there, I couldn’t take enough).
When my sister and I were little/younger, our parents would take us there to walk and explore. I hadn’t been to this place in years before we visited this past July 2017 and it was so nice to be there.
I noticed there were 2 other photo shoots going on at sunset, on the beach, which is a testament to what a beautiful place it is.
Lucile and I certainly took a lot of mini trips over the Summer of 2017 when she visited and I am glad that these photos are finally getting on the blog. There are so many little gems of places we went.
I hope you enjoyed the photos; thank you for following along!
