Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.preheating

  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In another bowl, beat the eggs, then add the melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until you have a smooth batter.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the greased cake pan and layer half of the sliced apples on top. Repeat with the remaining batter and apple slices.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the cake is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the cake cool for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
  9. Once completely cooled, dust the top with powdered sugar if desired.
