Tomato Sauce Recipe

This homemade tomato sauce recipe has in-season, ripe, garden-fresh tomatoes, olive oil infused with fresh garlic, fresh basil, fresh oregano, and fresh parsley. 

This recipe is flexible, adaptable and so easy to make! (vegan, gluten-free)

Continued... 1-3 tablespoons parsley, finely chopped 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt, plus more to season, amount to taste fresh ground pepper, amount to taste 1 teaspoon granulated white sugar, optional

In a large saucepan, over low-medium heat, add olive oil, when it's heated, add the crushed garlic. Cook the garlic for a few minutes to infuse the olive oil with the garlic.

Add the tomatoes and stir to combine. Adjust heat to medium and bring the tomatoes-oil mixture to a simmer.

Add the chopped basil, oregano, and parsley and stir it into the tomatoes. Simmer the sauce, stirring occasionally over medium-low heat, keeping it at a simmer.

If you want, you can further crush the tomatoes with a potato masher, otherwise, they would eventually break down the longer you cook the sauce...continued in the post!
