Prepare the Lettuce Base: To regrow romaine lettuce, you’ll need the base of a fresh head of lettuce. Start by cutting off the bottom inch of the lettuce head, where the roots grow.

1

Add Water: Place the lettuce base in a jar or glass filled with about an inch of water. Be sure to change the water every few days to prevent bacteria growth.

2

Wait for the Roots to Grow: Place the jar or glass in a sunny spot, and wait for the roots to grow. This should take about 7-10 days.

3

Transplant the Lettuce: Fill a pot or container with potting soil, and make a small hole for the lettuce base.
