Preparation: Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Cover your rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper so that it's over the edge of the rim of the baking sheet.


Prepare the pretzel base: Line the parchment with pretzels in an even, single layer, the amount of pretzels you use will depend on the side of your baking sheet.


Make the Toffee: In a small saucepan, add the unsalted butter, and the dark brown sugar and bring to a low boil, then boil for 3 minutes.


Add the chocolate and optional topping(s): Sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the toffee mixture. Put the baking sheet in the oven for 4-5 minutes and take it out.
