On the stove top, in a small-medium saucepan, over low-medium heat, pour 2 cups milk, add turmeric, cinnamon, ginger and honey or maple syrup.
When the mixture is at a simmer, remove the saucepan from heat.
Add 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and stir in(optional). Allow the liquid to cool a few minutes (just so that it's not boiling hot).
