Avocado Bagel Toast
Hi Everyone, what are you eating for breakfast and having for your afternoon snack this January?
All last week, I had variations on this Avocado Bagel Toast. Isn’t any form of Avocado Toast the best?
We got several bags of avocados (more than we usually have) because someone at Eric’s work had extra to give away.
Lucky us!
When you eat avocados every day, you feel great.
They are so nourishing and it feels like you are feeding your brain.
I could really use something to feed my brain because this January, I am brain-drained!
Tired from the holidays, tired from kiddos waking up in the middle of the night multiple times, tired of the food indulgence from December, tired of being tired…
With all this fatigue infiltrating my life, I am thinking about ways to change my habits for the better to infuse some healthy habits.
This January, I started working out again after a long break, cut back on wine and cocktails, added tea into my daily routine, and cut back on sweets.
I reintroduced healthy fats back into my diet by including coconut oil and eating avocado (a fruit of the avocado tree), for example, this delish bagel toast 🙂
Health Benefits of Avocado
Avocados are super nutritious, let’s count the ways:
- great source of fiber
- over 20 vitamins and minerals including vitamin K, folate, vitamin c, vitamin B5, vitamin B6, and vitamin E, plus more vitamins and minerals
- and they have more potassium than even bananas
- they are low in saturated fat
- they do not contain sodium or cholesterol and are considered a low-carb plant-based food
- they have heart-healthy monounsaturated fatty acids

Ingredients for Avocado Bagel Toast
- 1 Hass avocado, ripe, peeled, discard the pit
- tuxedo sesame seeds
- smoked paprika, organic
- ground pepper medley
- kosher salt
- 1 plain bagel, sliced in half

Avocado Bagel Toast
This Avocado Bagel Toast makes the perfect, satisfying, and savory breakfast to start the day or a mid-day snack. It has mashed, ripe, fresh, avocado, tuxedo sesame seeds, kosher salt, fresh ground peppercorn medley, and smoked paprika sprinkled on top.
Ingredients
- 1 Hass avocado, ripe, peeled, discard the pit
- 1/2 teaspoon tuxedo sesame seeds, amount to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika, organic, amount to taste
- 1/8 teaspoon ground pepper medley, amount to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt or amount to taste
- 1 plain bagel, sliced in half
Instructions
- Slice a plain bagel in half. You can toast the bagel if you want but this is optional. Slice the avocado in half, remove the pit, scoop out the avocado onto the bagel, and using a fork mash the avocado, cover it, and spread it over the surface of the bagel.
- Sprinkle the smoked paprika, ground pepper, sesame seeds, and kosher salt over the top of each side. Enjoy!
