Ingredients Needed for Broiled White Nectarines with Vanilla Whipped Cream
#1. 4 Nectarines, or more if desired, washed, halved and pitted
#2. 2 tablespoons coconut oil, melted
#3. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
#4. Fresh squeezed juice of 1/2 lemon
#5. 2 tablespoons granulated white sugar or natural sugar substitute like honey or maple syrup (in the same amount)
#6. lemon zest to garnish for serving
#7. 1 recipe Vanilla Whipped Cream

- A baking sheet with turned up sides
- A brush
- a small, microwavable bowl
- A handheld juicer

Directions for Broiled White Nectarines with Vanilla Whipped Cream
#1. Preheat the oven on the broil setting.
#2. Arrange nectarine halves open-faced on a baking sheet (preferably with turned up sides).
#3. Melt coconut oil 15 seconds at a time in the microwave, combine lemon juice, vanilla extract and sugar until dissolved.
#4. Generously brush the nectarines with the sugar-oil mixture.
#5. Broil for 10 minutes, when done allow to cool or serve warm with Vanilla Whipped Cream.

i have some very meh nectarines from my tree (they’re a little firm, a little bland, a little tart) that need to get cooked, and this sounds like such a good way to do it! i’m also a sucker for anything fruit and cream related, so there’s that (:
I do think this way of preparing nectarines can improve on those “meh” kind out there, for sure!
