Homemade Chocolate Shell
Hi Everyone, I have fond memories of my dad taking me to get ice cream on our “Daddy-Daughter Days” when I was little and I would ask for the whole cone to be dipped in the chocolate shell (a.k.a magic shell).
I somehow went years without my dear chocolate shell (oh, how could I forget about you sweet, chocolate shell?!) and fast-forward to when I moved in with my now-husband…well, guess what?
Eric has an affinity for the stuff too!
A sweet rediscovery!
But here’s something next level…what if we can make Chocolate Shell at home?
You know what friends?
Homemade Chocolate Shell could not be easier to make because it only takes 5 minutes.
It has 2, yes TWO, ingredients, and those 2 are some of my favorite ingredients: chocolate and coconut oil!
Combine that with these Outshine® Fruit Bars and we have got some great chemistry!
Oh yeah!
About Outshine® Bars
When I bite into any of these Outshine® Bars, the first thing I can taste are the bright flavors of real fruit, real juice and I learned that there’s now even more fruit or fruit juice in most of the Outshine® fruit bars than any other ingredient.
I also learned that for more than 20 years, they’ve been making delicious fruit bars out of ingredients like sweet strawberries, ripe mangoes, and juicy peaches.
Let me share this sweet memory: Way back, when I was an architecture intern at my first job, in the sweltering, humid Summers of Boston, I would take a break in the afternoons to walk to the corner store to get a creamy, coconut Outshine® Bar or 2.
Ah, that was the best!
I am happy that that Outshine® is GMO-free in nearly half of their products, and by the end of the year, they’re aiming to be GMO-free in nearly all of their bars.
I continue to support brands that already are GMO-free and who are working towards going GMO-free and have GMO labeling.
These Outshine® Bars are:
- Made with real fruit, veggies or juice
- No GMO (Yes!)
- No artificial colors or flavors. Added colors from natural sources. <- Love this (and everything else!)
- No high fructose corn syrup
- Gluten-free
- Fat-free
