Strawberry Salsa Recipe
Hi Everyone, let’s rejoice because it’s Strawberry season!
If you have access to someone that grows strawberries or has strawberry farms near you, take the opportunity to try picking your own or you can also support your local farmer’s market.
Fresh Strawberries are truly a treat!
I find them to be sweeter and fuller in flavor compared to their grocery store counterparts.
When is Strawberry Season?
Strawberry season (for us in NJ) is as early as May 20th, lasts from June 1st to June 10th and as late as June 25th.
My friends, this Strawberry Salsa may seem unusual for salsa but it does not disappoint in flavor!
The cilantro with the strawberries, crisp red onion, lime juice, and zest, and the bit of heat from the jalapeño pepper makes for a full-flavored appetizer.
You can make this recipe ahead (overnight at most) or make it and serve right away.
This recipe does not need any time to marinate and I think it’s better actually served right away or with a shorter marination time.
You can certainly, chill it long enough to get it cold, if you prefer to serve it cold, you can chill it for 30 minutes to 1 hour in the refrigerator.
It’s also eye-catching with the bright red and pops of green colors, if you serve this for any gathering, I guarantee you will see the bottom of the bowl before you know it!
