Peanut Butter
Hi Everyone, have you ever made your own homemade peanut butter before?
It’s so worth it and you can customize the flavor exactly to your liking!
I remember when I was little my parents would take me to the natural foods store and we would pick out the bulk peanuts and put them in the machine in the store and it would produce the most fresh-tasting, natural-style peanut butter.
I always looked forward to eating that delicious peanut butter – I could (and would) eat it straight by itself!
Ingredients
Here are the ingredients for this Peanut Butter recipe:
- 2 cups (16 ounces) raw, shelled peanuts or roasted, lightly salted if you want more “roast-y” tasting peanut butter
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt (or sea salt or Himalayan salt), plus more as needed, amount to taste – Please note: If you are using roasted & salted peanuts, you may not need to add any extra salt
- 1-2 tablespoons peanut oil or other oil (optional, this makes for creamier peanut butter)
- 1-2 tablespoons Wildflower (or any mild-flavored) honey or another sweetener, like Agave or maple syrup (optional, for sweeter peanut butter) *I love the taste of honey in this recipe
- optional mix-ins: 1 to 2 tablespoons cocoa powder, 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, handful of chocolate chips, a few spoonfuls of Hazelnut Spread (for example, Nutella)
Kitchen Tools

We are sharing a tutorial on How to Make Homemade Peanut Butter from scratch using your food processor and simple pantry ingredients. Makes approximately 1 1/2 cups. vegetarian, vegan option
Ingredients

- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt (or sea salt or Himalayan salt), plus more as needed, amount to taste - Please note: If you are using roasted & salted peanuts, you may not need to add any extra salt
- 1-2 tablespoons peanut oil or other oil (optional, this makes for creamier peanut butter)

optional mix-ins
Instructions
- Toasting the Raw Peanuts: (Skip this step if you are using pre-toasted nuts or prefer raw peanuts) Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. On a parchment or silicone baking mat-lined rimmed baking sheet, spread the nuts out and toast in the oven for 5-10 minutes, stirring them halfway. This makes the peanut butter more roast-y and flavorful.
- To Make the Peanut Butter: In a food processor, add the peanuts, optional honey, and other optional ingredients and processor for about 1 minute. Stop to scrape down the sides, process for another minute. Taste and adjust flavors as needed and process for another minute. When it is done to the consistency that you like (it should be glossy), scrape it out into a lidded container.
Notes
- Storage: Store in the refrigerator in an air-tight sealed container for up to several weeks.
