Slow Cooker Crock-Pot Butter Corn is the easiest side dish you could have for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Holiday gatherings, or any dinner. All you need is frozen corn, unsalted butter, salt, pepper, and any optional seasonings. This side dish is also a kid-friendly favorite recipe! (gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan option)

Hi Everyone, As a mom of 2 kids under 6, I strongly appreciate recipes that are so stupidly simple.
This recipe will not win awards for super creative but let me tell you, if it's between your picky eater, eating dinner, or not eating dinner at all - it's worth its weight in gold!
Moms out there, you feel me?
Kids aside, there's merit to having a very simple and simply seasoned dish (a simple alternative to a creamed corn-style dish) when you have a spread of elaborate dishes like you would at say Thanksgiving, Friendsgiving, Christmas, etc.
It's refreshing!

Approximate time it will take to totally defrost and be ready to serve hot??? I've never done it in a slow cooker before and want to try it today.
Sara Maniez says
Hi Rita, Thank you for your question, sorry I am just seeing this now; it should take between 1-2 hours it should be ready, definitely by 2, depending on your slow cooker. Make sure to stir it occasionally. Let us know how it works out!
Lisa says
This time info should definitely be in the original post!!!

i'd like to cook this at home and bring the crockpot to a potluck party. Will the corn hold on warm setting in the crockpot for a couple of hours without turning mushy or???
Sara Maniez says
It should, just make sure to stir it and you may need to add more moisture (water) if it's getting dry. Make sure to keep the lid on to keep the heat and moisture in. Thank you for your question!
Marilyn Furlong says
Cook on high or low for 1-2 hours?
Sara Maniez says
It's high for 2 hours. Thank you for your question!

Hi, thank you for publishing this recipe. It is hard to find a regular corn recipe without adding cream to it. My concern is if it’s Weight Watchers friendly and I was quite shocked when I noticed the nutrition information. Are you sure the nutrition information is not for the entire recipe? Are the nutrition really per serving? So it’s 1375 cal per serving? Please advise thank you.

Can I use canned corn
Sara Maniez says
Yes! Thank you for your question!
