Slow Cooker Crock Pot Butter Green Peas is the easiest side dish you could possibly have for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Holiday gatherings, or any dinner. All you need is frozen green peas, unsalted butter, salt, pepper, and any optional seasonings. This side dish is also a kid-friendly favorite recipe! (gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan option)
Ingredients
- 3 pounds frozen green peas
- ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon Kosher salt, amount to taste
- ¼ teaspoon fresh ground pepper medley, amount to taste
- 1 teaspoon seasoning mix of choice, amount to taste *I have used “Badia Complete Season” seasoning with success, dill is great too
- 2-4 cups water
Instructions
- In your slow cooker, put frozen peas, ½ cup unsalted butter, salt, pepper, optional seasoning, and 2-4 cups water. I usually add just 2 and keep stirring to combine but you may want more "sauce" in your dish. Adjust heat to high and cover.
- After 15-20 minutes, when the butter starts to melt, stir to combine the ingredients. Cover and continue cooking. Stir periodically.
- When all ingredients are completely defrosted, completely combined, and hot, it is ready to serve. Enjoy!
