Hi Everyone, Do you work at home?
Do you struggle with productivity?
How do you get in the groove to be the most productive you can be?
This is a topic that is near and dear to my heart because it’s one that I think about every day as a work-at-home mom with two children under 4.
I have certain habits that I have integrated into my day that have helped me stay on task and make accomplishing tasks – not drudgery – but actually fun!

Tip #1 – Use a calendar to organize yourself and schedule out tasks – I suggest using a physical calendar where you can write down things and also a digital calendar.
I use my Passion Planner (physical) Google Calendar for my digital calendar.
It’s so important because people are visual creatures and need to see the tasks or appointments organized on paper (or digitally) in order to plan one’s schedules.
If you are a blogger, I also use a free editorial calendar plugin for planning posts in WordPress on my blog.
I would also suggest keeping a ruled journal to write thoughts and ideas down or sketch if you wish.
Tip #2 – Be on a regular schedule – I know, it’s so basic but it’s easy to get out of sync with the rest of the world when you can set your own schedule. Ideally, it’s good to be awake when other people you have to work with are awake but as long as your schedule is a regular one, it helps you be rested so that you can be productive during your workday.
Tip #3 – Add the element of ritual to your day – that might be burning a candle (one of my favorites!) or having your favorite tea or coffee when you sit down to work.
Some people burn incense or use a diffuser with essential oils. Let me know if you use a diffuser, this is something I am thinking about integrating into my routine.
Tip #4 – Don’t forget to take breaks! – I love walking and hiking and I walk my dog 3 times a day which provides a nice break and reconnection with nature.
You can listen to music as a way to be more productive and it can make you feel more relaxed.
Fitness is also important and falls into this category.
I recently joined a gym, so to go work out, I have to get out of my house and away from my work. I always feel accomplished after I work out and more balanced in life.
Tip #5 – Feed your brain – Take your vitamins, integrate protein into your diet, and remember fish is brain food too.
I will keep cans of tuna on hand to add to salads to add more protein.
I also sprinkle chia seeds in drinks, oatmeal, or on snacks.
Tip #6 – Hydrate – Don’t forget to drink your liquids!
