Baked Apple Cider Donuts
Hi Everyone, one thing I look forward to every Fall is having some apple cider donuts.
These Baked Apple Cider Donuts satisfy that craving well, without being fried.
That crunchy, sugar coating, warm spices of cinnamon and nutmeg are so lovely, especially on a crisp, cool, Fall day.
Ingredients for Baked Apple Cider Donuts
- cooking spray (for greasing donut pan) or use unsalted butter
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup granulated white sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon I use Saigon cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tsp Kosher salt
- 1/2 cup apple cider
- 1/4 cup whole milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter melted and cooled
Topping: - 1/4 cup granulated white sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter melted, you will need a pastry brush to apply the butter to the donuts
Baked Apple Cider Donuts
- 6 or 12 cup donut pan – This is the donut pan that I have and use every time I make donuts:
- baking spatula
- measuring spoons and cups
- large and small-medium mixing bowl – This is the set that I have and use every day!:
- wooden spoon for mixing batter
- optional: pastry bag

Ingredients

Topping
- 1/4 cup granulated white sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted, you will need a pastry brush to apply the butter to the donuts
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
- Spray your donut pan with cooking oil spray (or grease with unsalted butter). Set aside.
For Donut Batter
- In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, granulated white sugar, baking powder, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and Kosher salt until combined.
- In the same bowl, add the apple cider, whole milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and melted and cooled butter. Do not over mix, just mix until blended.
- Using a spoon or a pastry bag, fill each donut cup in the donut pan 3/4 full.
- Bake for 10 minutes. To check for doneness, the donuts will spring back when touched.
For Topping
- In a medium-small bowl, mix the granulated white sugar, dark brown sugar, and cinnamon until evenly combined.
- Using a pastry brush, brush each donut with the melted butter and then dip the donut into the cinnamon-sugar mixture until evenly coated. Enjoy!
