Here are 8 Ways Parents Can Stay Healthy During School Season! It sure can be a challenge while the kiddos are in school - see how Robitussin® DM Max Strength helped me out on Halloween and this past week! You can clear cough from your schedule too! (Use as Directed)

It is so easy to get sick this time of year.
The possibility of germs spreading is high.
I think about the back and forth between school, my husband's work, my trips to the grocery store, and the possibility of germs spreading all in those scenarios.

To top it off, I often have Fall allergies which make me feel sick anyways.
I get this sort of chronic stuffy nose thing that I am sure makes for a perfect space for some kind of cold to take root.
Every year, at this time, I seem to get sick...
Well, guess what?
I did get sick.
I felt the symptoms come on (sore throat, stuffy nose...) around October 26th, and the next day it was like, Boom!
I've been sick every day since and it's now early November.

In the last week, I have had A LOT going on, here's a sampling of those things: my daughter's school schedule, blog deadlines, a guest post deadline, family dinners, my parents visited over the weekend, other family members stopping by, and Halloween! ?
You know, it's all just normal October stuff..
That sore throat and stuffy nose made way for a cough and chest congestion which I currently have and I hope will be clearing up soon?
You would never know that I have been sick in any of the photos I posted here from this week and Halloween - at least, I can't tell from looking at them?

Having chest congestion with a cough makes it really hard for me to do any regular daily activities.
I took Robitussin® DM Max Strength before any planned activities and I was able to function better. (Use as Directed)
Just being able to get through a "sick" week, being productive, and keeping up was what I needed to do this week since I had so much on my plate and Robitussin® really helped with that.
I got Robitussin® DM Max Strength at Walmart near the Pharmacy section while I picked up other household items recently, little did I know I would need to take it so soon!
Let me explain something here, Robitussin® and I go way back, like, to my childhood.
My Mom, June, is an amazing cardiac care nurse and when I was sick growing up, she (or my Dad, Barry) gave me Robitussin®.
I really associate the color, the taste, the packaging, and how I feel after taking it, with feeling a whole lot better.

I know there are sometimes when one really just needs to rest, and I did get rest during the week but there were times when I needed to keep going too.
The bottom line, it makes me feel better & functional and that helps me so much when I really need it.

Being able to take my daughter for the Halloween festivities was priceless and I didn't want to miss it for the world because SHE is my world!
This year, she's 2 ½ and is at the age when she's really taking in the holidays.
I do not take each moment for granted and I want to be there for everything.
This is actually her 3rd Halloween but this year she got so into "trick or treating" and thoroughly enjoyed the holiday.

Here are 8 Ways Parents Can Stay Healthy During School Season:
#1 - Keep tissues around the house, in the car, in your purse, in the diaper bag - you get the idea!
It's a good idea to cover your mouth and nose if you sneeze to prevent spreading germs to other people.
If you notice someone needs a tissue, it's nice to have them at hand to offer one (or more!) to them.
#2 - Keep antibacterial wipes on-the-go - In the car, purse & diaper bag - it is really handy to have these around when you need them.
I suggest wiping down grocery carts before setting one's child in the seat.
Handles, electronic equipment - anything that gets touched a lot should get wiped down regularly in the house and outside the house.
#3 - Keep hand sanitizer close by - I always keep a small bottle of the stuff in my purse when I am on-the-go.
You never know when you will need to sanitize your hands and you might not be near a water source to wash your hands.
#4 - Drink plenty of water - This is so important! Staying hydrated has positive effects on your body.
If I don't stay hydrated, I get headaches and just do not feel well in general.
It's really simple but when you are busy sometimes it can be easy to forget.
#5 - Eat nutrient-dense food and take vitamins - I take a multi-vitamin every day and make an effort to eat a balanced diet and I always try to incorporate nutrient-dense food whenever possible.
#6 - Keep your mind active and engaged - Are you a social person?
It's important to be social and keep up with friends and family, I believe being social can have a positive effect on one's immune system - as long as the people you are socializing with are not sick!
#7 - Get some exercise - As long as you are not sick, it's important to be active and keep moving.
#8 - Get rest when you need it - Going to bed at a normal hour, not overloading your daily schedule, and pacing yourself are important things to remember.
If there are tasks to get done and you happen to be sick or getting run down, spread them out over the course of several days, ask for help or reschedule if you can.
I hope you enjoyed these 8 Ways Parents Can Stay Healthy During School Season and hearing about this past eventful week in October to November.
It's hard to believe that there are only 8 weeks until Christmas and somewhere in there is Thanksgiving!
I think the wise thing to do is not to panic but to plan...?
I hope your Fall and holidays are illness-free and filled with happy memories 🙂
