These DIY Spring to Summer Pansy Planters are the perfect garden DIY to brighten your deck, patio, or garden. Get the kids involved to make this a fun, family activity.

These DIY Spring to Summer Pansy Planters have brought so much color and cheer to our yard and it was a pretty inexpensive and fun activity for my family.
We planted them in the Spring (Mid-May) and if you take care of them, they can last throughout the Summer.
Planting flowers and watering them is a great way to show children how to care and nurture, as well as connect to nature.
We certainly enjoyed this outdoor, gardening activity with our kiddo!


#1. Pansies (annual)
#2. Organic compost
#3. Potting soil
#4. Potting Containers
#5. Stone/gravel, for drainage

#1. Place gravel in the bottom of the containers, 2-3 inches high.
#2. Mix potting soil and organic compost in a 1:1 ratio, unless otherwise indicated by the plants requirements.
#3. Plant pansies 5 inches apart (they will grow in), or recommended plant spacing depending on pansy variety
#4. Water generously and continue to maintain according to specific pansy variety instructions.
