I love this combination!
These flavors remind me of Summer, refreshing, yet satisfying.
Savory flavors, yet there’s sweetness in the ripe tomatoes.
All you need are these fresh ingredients and some frozen (thawed) puff pastry.
I usually always have some in my freezer and put it in the refrigerator the day before I want to use it so it can thaw.

How many slices of mozzarella did you use? I didn’t see it on the list of ingredients. Thanks
I used a 8 ounce ball of mozzarella but you can use the amount you want to taste, anywhere between 4-8 ounces. Thank you!
Hi there!
The amount to mozzarella isn’t listed in the ingredients. How much did you use?
Thanks!
I used a 8 ounce ball of mozzarella but you can use the amount you want to taste, anywhere between 4-8 ounces. Thank you!
This was amazing! I loved the puff pastry, it was a lovely tart! It was so easy to put together and tasted great! I didn’t add the full 8 oz fresh mozz but I definitely will next time! I am excited to make this one again, thanks for the recipe!
Hi Crissy, I am so glad that you tried it and liked it! I encourage people to customize recipes and you can absolutely add the amount that you like. Best, ~Sara xo
Hi Sara! This looks so delicious, I can’t wait to try it! I’ve never used puffed pastry so I’m curious why you leave it unfolded? Also, would it work with pepperoni or sausage for a kid friendly version?
Yes, You can make a kid-friendly version, let me know if you did! Sorry if unclear in the direction, I mean to say that it should be unfolded instead of left unfolded. Thank you!
made mine to daybut used 1 and a half cheese was super with home grown tomatoes and it was super thank you xx
Thank you so much for coming back and commenting, I’m glad you liked it!
This looks delicious! Is there any way to prepping this ahead of time and keep frozen until cooking the day its needed? Thank you
That is a good idea, theoretically you could, just make sure it’s covered so it doesn’t get freezer burn on it. I haven’t tried it, so if you do then let me know. I’m not sure if thawing and then freezing the Puff Pastry is a good thing to do but it’s probably fine as long as it’s not out too long – if you try this, please let me know how it works out!
This looks so good! What a great crowd pleasing appetizer!
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing! Does it reheat well?
I would reheat it in the oven or toaster oven, keeping a close eye on it so that it doesn’t burn. The microwave would leave it hot but mushy. Thank you for your question!
Can this be served cold? Will it taste ok?
Hello Stacy, it can be served cold, however, it won’t taste the same or as good as when it’s freshly cooked. Thank you and have a great day!
My family really liked the flavor of this tart but the pastry puff had a very soggy bottom. Do you think pre-baking the pastry would solve this?
I have found that just using less tomato sauce would do the trick. The puff pastry cooks up very fast and I would be worried about it burning in the oven with prebaking and then baking again but if you try prebaking, let us know how it works out! Thank you!
Looks like a very good recipe and I will try it this long weekend holiday. One suggestion is to change the print option to print without all the photos. Uses a lot of ink and paper and could be more user friendly. I resorted to a cut and paste option. Just a thought for readers trying to print. Thanks.
I have contacted the plugin creator to see if they can make this change, thank you for the suggestion! I have wanted to make this change too on the site. Thanks for your feedback!
Very yummy! I made it with phyllo pastry since my local grocery didn’t have puff pastry and it was quite good. I was worried about soggy pastry so I didn’t add very much sauce and it actually ended up a little dry so I think if I make it with phyllo again I’ll add more sauce!
Thank you for coming back and sharing your experience! I am so glad that you like the recipe!
