Ways to Tackle Dog Hair in Your Home

Do you have a dog or like me, dogs?

Do they shed or have "hair" that needs to be clipped?

I have both!

We have a Miniature Poodle, Chloe, and a Pit Bull mix named Cayli.

Cayli sheds and Chloe has hair that we clip or on occasion have it clipped.

Even though Chloe does not shed like the typical dog, I definitely see her white hair sometimes show up and I have a little theory that Cayli sheds so much that Chloe "carries" Cayli's fur on her and sheds it that way - like a walking, barking dust bunny of sorts!

Even though we keep our dogs groomed, during the changing seasons (and just daily) Cayli sheds her coat generously.

Though her fur is short, it is very dense, much like a Labrador's fur and I definitely work to keep up with it!

My husband and I get Fall allergies and the dog fur can exacerbate those symptoms, so today I am going to share with you Ways to Tackle Dog Hair in Your Home that has worked for our home.

Step-By-Step Tutorial on Ways to Tackle Dog Hair in Your Home

#1 - Cleaning the Rug/Carpet

This is a little cleaning hack that I learned from my mom.

Growing up, we always had a pet dog and you bet there was fur to clean up.

We also had rugs in every room of the house.

Not every vacuum can get that fur that somehow gets "woven" into the rug.

I suggest vacuum as you would normally and then scan over your rug to see if there is any stubborn dog hair.

You can go over the rug with a Scotch-Brite™ Lint Roller to pick them up.

Mission accomplished!

#2 - Take Along & In The Car

When I worked an office job, I ALWAYS took a Scotch-Brite™ Lint Roller with me. Why?

Because my dog's hair would travel with me to work!

It would get in the car on my seat at work and certain fabrics seemed to be worse than others - not to mention some of my sweaters and coats (see below!).

I don't have to imagine because it's definitely something that I deal with when I am cleaning the house.
