Hi Everyone, Chocolate Crinkles are traditionally made around the Winter holiday time (i.e. Christmas) but I'll bet they would make a nice cookie for Valentine's Day too 🙂
You need a little chocolate to get through those cold, winter months (that is if you live in a cold climate).
I adapted one of Eric's family recipes for Chocolate Crinkles from his grandmother to have coconut oil instead of shortening since we do not regularly use shortening.
I also swapped the 2 squares of chocolate that the original recipe required with unsweetened baking cocoa which is a more common pantry staple.
I love this recipe because it makes a bunch, nearly 4 dozen, depending on the size you make them, so you can give some away to friends (if you want).
I think these would make a very sweet, edible Valentine - definitely more fun than a card, right?

I made these. My family ate almost a dozen before I get the other 3 dozen to work. They were gone before the end of the day and I got a lot of compliments that they were great!
