Dried Orange Slices
Hi Everyone, these dried orange slices are so easy to make, all you need is 4 navel (or more!) oranges!
You can get creative with how to use them. They go great in hot tea or make them add a festive flair to Christmas cookie boxes, as an edible gift.
They can be used in a non-culinary way as well by using them to decorate presents, wreaths, and Christmas trees – how would you use them? Let us know in the comments below.

Ingredients
- 4 navel oranges, evenly sliced thin, about 1/4-inch thick

Kitchen Tools
- cutting board
- chef’s knife
- silicone baking mat or parchment paper
- rimmed baking sheet
- paper towels
- tongs
- wire cooling rack
- lidded storage container
How to Make Dried Orange Slices
Step 1
Preparation: Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C). Line a rimmed baking sheet with a silicone baking mat or parchment paper.
Place the thinly sliced orange slices in a single layer on the prepped baking sheet. Make sure they are not touching. Using a paper towel, blot the slices to soak up any excess moisture.
Step 2
Bake the Orange Slices: Bake for 3 hours in your preheated oven. Check the oranges periodically to make sure they are not burning. Depending on your oranges they may finish sooner than the total baking time, check towards the end and pull them out early if need be. Allow them to cool completely on a wire cooling rack. When they are fully cool, you can use them right away or store them in a lidded container.

Recipe Notes
- Substitute: You can experiment using blood oranges, grapefruit, limes, lemons, other kinds of citrus fruits, or a combination of each, with this recipe. Make sure to remove any seeds.
- Storage: Keep them in an air-tight container for up to 2 years.
- Serving suggestions: These dried orange slices go well in tea, hot toddies, or other drinks, use them to decorate desserts, as ornaments, to decorate gift packaging, and wreaths.
