This Nutella Puff Pastry Christmas Tree is festive, sweet, and so easy to make with your favorite chocolate hazelnut spread and frozen, thawed puff pastry sheets. It's perfect for Christmas holiday parties, family gatherings, or when you are craving a sweet treat!
Hello Everyone, this Nutella Puff Pastry Christmas Tree is so festive and pretty and guess what? It couldn't be easier to make!
We love a recipe that has a few shortcut, in this case, Nutella, and store-bought, thawed, puff pastry and a few pantry ingredients to assemble for your next Christmas party!
The full, printable recipe is at the bottom of the post.
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
Gently roll the 2 thawed puff pastry sheets with a rolling pin to get the creases out and to make it a rectangle.
Spread the warmed Nutella evenly, in a thin layer on 1 sheet. Lay the other sheet directly on top.
Using a knife or pizza cutter, cut the 2 top corners off to make the sheet into a "tree" shape. Cut the base "stump" of the tree. Using a star-shaped cookie cutter, cut a star for the top.
Using a knife, cut the "branches" of the tree, twist each one 2 or more times
Use the egg wash to adhere the star to the top.
Brush the entire top of the puff pastry with the egg wash.
Sprinkle the entire Christmas tree with cinnamon-sugar mixture.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes or until slightly golden. Be careful not to overcook it as not to burn the puff pastry.
When it's done, allow to cool on a wire cooling rack or trivet.
Optionally, you can serve the Nutella Puff Pastry Christmas Tree dusted with powdered/confectioner's sugar, or leave it plain. Enjoy!
