Christmas M&M Cookies
Hi Everyone, these Christmas M&M Cookies are large, and thin, with crisp edges, chewy centers, and Christmas-themed M&M’s throughout.
These cookies remind me of the large M&M cookies that I used to get at the mall when I was a kid in the 80s and 90s.

How to Make Christmas M&M Cookies
Step 1
Preparation: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (177 degrees Celcius). Line a rimmed baking sheet with a silicone baking mat or parchment paper.
Step 2
Cream the butter & sugar: In a stand mixer, add the unsalted butter and then the sugar, and using the paddle attachment, cream the ingredients together. Add the 2 eggs and vanilla extract and mix them together.

Step 3
Mix the dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, add the all-purpose flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder and whisk together.

Add the flour mixture into the butter-sugar mixture in 4-5 parts, mixing in between. Gently fold in half the Christmas (red & green) M&M’s.

Reserve the remaining M&M’s to put on top of the dough balls before baking.
Step 4
Scoop the cookie dough: Using a large cookie scoop (3 tablespoons), scoop the cookies and place the dough balls 6 on a baking sheet (these cookies do spread quite a bit). If the cookie dough is hard to manage, you can refrigerate it for 5-10 minutes at a time. This recipe should make about 22 cookies (5-inch wide) total (if using a 3 tablespoons cookie scoop). Place 9-11 M&M’s on top of each dough ball before baking.

Step 5
Bake the cookies: Bake, in a preheated oven, for 12-14 minutes for a soft cookie with crisp edges; Bake for 14-16 minutes for a crisp cookie. After baking, allow the cookies to be set up on the baking sheet for 10 minutes before moving to a wire cooling rack to finish cooling. If you move them before, because this cookie recipe is very thin, they could break easily. Enjoy these delicious cookies!

Recipe Notes
- Make sure the butter and other ingredients are at room temperature before starting the recipe.
- We place 9-11 Christmas M&Ms on top of each cookie before baking
- Please note, these cookies spread quite a bit, they are thin and chewy or crisp if you choose to bake them longer, giving enough space for them to spread, we bake them in 6 evenly-spaced, dough balls on a regular-size rimmed baking sheet.
- Cook Times: Bake for 12-14 minutes for a soft cookie with crisp edges; Bake for 14-16 minutes for a crisp cookie.
- Makes about 22 cookies (5-inch wide) total (if using a 3 tablespoons cookie scoop)
