Organic CSA Box Week 1
Hi Everyone, I just want to share about my Roots to River Farm Organic CSA share's first pickup!
It has been a wonderful thing to be able to do a CSA share box to offset the need to go into the grocery store during the COVID-19 pandemic.
I love supporting local farms and feel that is so important and a healthy thing to do for our family.
Last Summer, I also had a CSA share but it was during "normal times," and my pick-up was in a market setting where people could gather and see each other.
So much has changed since then but this option is so convenient as now I am a mom of 3 young children and it's easier to pick up a box, rather than chase my kids around a market 🙂
I have the bi-weekly small share which includes 5 items of my choosing that I select before the pickup. All the vegetables are organic.
What was in my first week's share:
- CSA Spicy Mix - bag
- CSA Arugula - bunch
- CSA Kale (curly) - bunch
- CSA Hakurei Turnip - bunch
- CSA Napa Cabbage (baby) - head
It's great to see what is in season each week that I pick up. It's also inspiring to cook with new items and sometimes items that I wouldn't normally get or have access to at the grocery store.
Do you belong to a local CSA? Please share your experience and favorite vegetables and items in the comments below, I would love to hear about it.
