Pigs in a Blanket
Hi Everyone, I have an easy and satisfying recipe for you: Easy, sausage, Pigs in a blanket!
These are made with crescent roll dough that comes in a cylinder in the refrigerated section of the grocery store.
Traditionally, Pigs in a Blanket have mini hot dogs in them but in this version, we have all-natural sausage!
I usually use Pillsbury or just the generic store brand!
This recipe has only 4 required ingredients (not counting any sauce(es) that you want to serve them with) or if you want to add cheese.
I love a super easy recipe like this, it’s homemade – but you didn’t cook the whole day homemade, and still have time to play with the kiddos and do fun stuff 😉
I can see this recipe being perfect for bringing to a potluck or making for game day or any upcoming Fall/holiday gathering.
Ingredients
- 1 package premade cooked sausage
- 1-2 packages of crescent roll dough – depending on how much you want to make! (for the photos in this post I used 2)
- 1 egg, stirred, to make wash
- 1-2 tablespoons everything bagel seasoning
Kitchen Tools
- measuring spoons and cups
- chef’s knife
- cutting board
- rimmed baking sheet
- silicone baking mat

Pigs in a Blanket
This easy, Pigs in a Blanket recipe has premade cooked sausage and store-bought, crescent roll dough! You can top it with everything bagel seasoning or leave it plain. Enjoy these delicious, savory, and satisfying bites for an easy-to-make gathering, party appetizer!
Ingredients
- 1 package premade, cooked sausage, cut into 1-inch sections
- 1-2 packages of crescent roll dough – depending on how much you want to make! (for the photos in this post I used 2)
- 1 egg, stirred, plus 1 tablespoon water, to make the wash
- 1-2 tablespoons everything bagel seasoning
Instructions
- Arrange the racks in the oven so that there's a rack in the middle. Preheat your oven to 375°F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Prepare the egg wash, set aside or in the fridge (covered) until ready to use.
- Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate the individual triangles. Add the 1-inch cut sausage pieces to the widest part (opposite the tip) of the triangles and roll them up. Pinch them shut if you need to. If they do not stick you can seal them with a little water on your fingertips. Repeat with the remaining sausage. Add them to the prepared baking sheets, evenly spaced. Brush the tops with the egg wash. Add the everything bagel seasoning.
- Bake in the preheated oven, on the middle rack, for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Allow to cool for a few minutes and serve warm/hot. These are great to serve with mustard, ketchup, or your favorite sauce. Enjoy!
Notes
- I used 2 packs of "al fresco" apple sausage or "Applegate" brands and cut them into about 1-inch segments.
- I use Pillsbury or the generic grocery store brand of crescent roll dough (8 rolls per container, so if you are using 2 as I did then 16 rolls total).
- For a cheesy variation, you can add some cheese like cheddar, swiss, or muenster.
