How long does this usually store for? Sometimes my family uses it up in days, other times not so much.
Sara says
Hello Mandy, thanks for asking a great question! There's usually a recommended amount of days to use the product on the buttermilk carton from the time it's opened, which may differ between brands. That said, I've tried to use it up within 3 days (after opening a new buttermilk container), keeping it stored in an airtight container whenever I make it as my own rule of thumb just because I get paranoid about things going bad. If you are looking for ways to use up buttermilk, using it in pancakes and cakes makes a lovely texture and flavor. I hope that helps!
