Air Fryer Puff Pastry Pop Tarts
Hi Everyone, who grew up with Pop Tarts? I certainly did. There’s a place in my heart for those special treats…calling all air fryer people, where are my air fryer people at?
I have a Super-duper pop tart recipe for you, these Air Fryer Puff Pastry Pop Tarts!
Usually, pop tart recipes call for pie crust (which is also awesome) but these pop tarts call for puff pastry. The puff pastry makes them thick, tall, crispy and oh-so-delicious! This pastry is like breakfast, snack and dessert all rolled into one recipe!
I usually have a long gap between developing and photographing recipes and getting them published here on the blog. I have some recipes that are over a year old that have not made it onto the blog. Sometimes, I am just waiting for the right, seasonal timing, etc.
I recently, made this recipe and shared it on my Instagram stories. Well, one of my IG followers asked me to post it, so I thought, hey, why not? So, here it is!
I have to say, I have been loving my air fryer. I love experimenting with it and making healthier “fried” food recipes. Well, this particular recipe may not be health food, but it sure is fun!
I would love to hear what you are making now in your air fryer, please let me know in the comments below.

Air Fryer Puff Pastry Pop Tarts
Air Fryer Puff Pastry Pop Tarts are crisp, flakey pastries filled with your favorite fruit preserves and topped with buttery-sweet icing and adored with colorful sprinkles.
Ingredients
- 17.3 ounce (1.1 lbs/490 grams) 1 package puff pastry with 2 sheets (I use Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry sheets from the frozen foods section) frozen, thawed
- 12 teaspoons your favorite fruit preserves (in these photos, I used strawberry and mixed berry)
- small dish of water
- sprinkles (I used India Tree Natural Sprinkles in these photos)
- 2 cups confectioner’s sugar
- 1 tablespoons half and half (can substitute the same amount milk or heavy cream)
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Instructions
- Working with 1 sheet at a time, cut the puff pastry into 6 equal rectangles. Do the same with the 2nd puff pastry sheet.
- Add 2 teaspoons your favorite fruit preserves in the center of each rectangle.
- Using water on your fingertips, wet the edges of the pastry.
- Put a rectangle on top of each rectangle, making 6 pastries total.
- Using a fork, crimp the edges of each pastry to seal them.
- Using the tip of a knife, poke holes in the top of the pastries to vent.
- Add the pastries to the air fryer cooking 2 at a time (depending on the size of your air fryer).
- Cook them at 350 degrees F for 9-10 minutes or until golden brown.
- To make the icing: In a large bowl, mix confectioner's sugar, melted butter, half and half and vanilla, stir to combine until smooth.
- When the pastries are done, have them cool completely on a wire rack. You can refrigerate them to speed up the process. You want to make sure they are completely cool before adding the icing.
- When they are completely cooled, add icing to each pastry and sprinkle with sprinkles. Enjoy!
