November 2020 Coffee Time – It’s Coffee Time and time for our monthly, life update check-in.
November 2020 Coffee Time
Hey Everyone, if you celebrate Thanksgiving, how was your Thanksgiving?
I hope it was a good one.
Ours, like many, I’m sure, was low-key.
We had turkey, gravy, and some sides just for our family in our household and did a small outdoor “Dessertsgiving” with our family who lives locally in the state from two other households.
I love the “Dessertsgiving” concept, it worked well and I think it’s totally a thing now!Â
We wore masks, had a sanitation station, were spaced out apart. We had pumpkin pie, pecan pie, these yummy coconut-chocolate patties (that I have to make a recipe for!), and cheesecake – yum! We had a nice fire pit going and the weather was beautiful and warm.
It is nice to have a year where I didn’t have to cook a huge meal and feel more pressure.
Since I have an infant in tow this year along with my older two kids under 7, if there ever was a year for me to get a nice, low-key, Thanksgiving, this was it.
I would have loved to have seen my parents and the rest of my family but they live 5 states away and it would have been hard.
We did a Facetime chat which was really nice, texted, and sent photos throughout the day with my extended family.
I look forward to having a larger Thanksgiving celebration next year.
I loved having an outdoor component to Thanksgiving and I would love to be able to keep that idea for the future.
It’s a great time to reflect on the things that really matter, be grateful and thankful for what we have and sit in the present moment, and feel grounded.
I’m going to hold onto that feeling and even if things change in the future, the gift of feeling grounded, grateful, and thankful is what I would like to carry with me.
I am grateful to all of you!
Thank you to all of you that have followed the blog over the years, enjoyed my recipes – thank you so much!
