Hi Everyone, How is your 2017 year wrapping up?
Do you have any plans for New Years Eve?
We will just be having a quiet evening, nothing crazy - it's just so cold here! I'm actually posting this "Sweet Saturday" post on a Sunday (I'll postdate it for yesterday though 😉 because, well, that's life lately, I have to work when I have those narrow windows between being a mom and the holidays.
I am looking forward to pushing that reset button for the year and wrapping up 2017 and getting organized for 2018.

#1 - Entertainment - What We are Watching:
Black Mirror - There are new episodes for this series on Netflix and they are good. We started watching them the other night. We also enjoyed the first season. I didn't see all of the episodes from the first season, I think Eric got to see more of them but I think the series is very well thought out and addresses many larger philosophical, societal issues through the storytelling.
A few weeks ago we watched The Punisher series also on Netflix and though that was pretty darn violent, we got absorbed into the storyline.
We watched all of True Detective (on HBO go) season 1 and 2 and loved it. It's also violent and dark (geez, I see a pattern here...I think after the kids go to bed we just want to see something different than kids shows), but the writing was so good, especially in season 1, the acting is so on point, it was like reading an absorbing novel.

For Christmas, I got these glass mugs for hot beverages and ceramic latte mugs (linked below) to use for my home coffee bar that I've been building up over the past few months. I have been using them and loving both products since Christmas day and they have been GREAT. I highly recommend them if you are looking for some basic, good-quality coffee/tea mugs.

I recently made my own version of these Homemade Cinnamon Rolls by the blog The Tastes of Lizzy T for our family. I made a few changes just for my personal tastes but I think the recipe is really good and it makes a fine cinnamon roll. It was a good opportunity to get out my large stand mixer which I hadn't used in a while.

I just listened to 126: Fueling Your Passion with Your Day Job with Sean McCabe from the Food Blogger Pro podcast and found it very inspiring.
#6 - Some Final Thoughts for 2017:
The below picture is what I want to do all day right now: snuggle my kids, be a mom & give love to my family. I still have soo many recipes (already written and shot) and travel photos that I prepared in 2017 and there just isn't enough time in the day to do everything, especially for someone like me who is and likes to be prolific with my work. I definitely beat myself up about not being a "machine" in getting content up on the blog sometimes. Hopefully, eventually, I will get them up on the blog when time and space allows but I don't want to take away time from what matters most, my family <3 I did do a lot this year, so many different things like working though a pregnancy loss in 2016, having Marc this past September (you can read his birth story here), I did lots of traveling over the Summer with our French cousin Lucile who lived with us for 3 months this Summer while we renovated our kitchen (to see all of our kitchen renovation posts, visit here.),... and I realize we just all need to give ourselves some grace and perspective. I hope everyone out there gives themselves some grace too...
