This Classic Homemade Tater Tot Casserole is made from scratch without the use of canned soup. It's creamy, comforting and a delicious, one-dish dinner, sure to be a family favorite!
I have been making this Classic Homemade Tater Tot Casserole for about 3 years now but this is the first time it has made it to the blog.
It's nice for this time of year because it's a comfort food dish perfect for cold weather.
It's also a convenient one-dish dinner and though it does require a large frying pan to cook the ingredients, the cleanup from this dinner is relatively easy.
There is no condensed cream of mushroom canned soup in this recipe!
I will stop at making homemade tater tots though, at least for this recipe, let's just save that endeavor for another day. 🙂
I love eating this Classic Homemade Tater Tot Casserole with extra sour cream or plain Greek yogurt at serving, it just goes so well.
You can substitute the same amount of lean ground beef for lean ground turkey, lean ground chicken, or lean ground pork.
Who can resist a cheesy & delicious bite of this Classic Homemade Tater Tot Casserole?

This was sooo good. Very easy, and much tastier than the condensed can of soup versions.

This is my go-to tator tot casserole recipe! I try very hard not to use processed ingredients like canned soups, so I love this recipe! I use it with ground venison instead of beef and it's amazing! For vegetables (during non-gardening season), I use a frozen organic veggie blend of carrots, peas, green beans, and corn. Thank you for this recipe!
