Sweet Saturday #5 – 10.28.2017 – Time to take a break from recipes and catch up. #LLSSweetSaturday
Estimated reading time: 4 minutes

Hi Everyone, this Sweet Saturday series has evolved slightly and I think what it needs to be is just a break from posting recipes to check in with you, my readers.
I haven't been posting these posts every week, I will sometimes skip a week but I am so glad to share when I can.
October is such a "busy" month but it's nothing compared to November and December and I mean that for work and for family and personal commitments.
I am going to go the minimalist route whenever I can and try to simplify my schedule - especially now that we have a new baby!
Having Marc has been so amazing, I am savoring every moment in this newborn phase which goes by so fast.
The photo above is a preview up an upcoming, Fall season, donut recipe that I know you will love, can't wait to share that one 🙂 Get it here ⇒ Pumpkin Spice Baked Donuts
This week’s list:
#1 - Pause - I just want to present this idea - let's take a pause whenever we can, live in the moment because the present is fleeting.
It's October, the leaves are changing and they are so beautiful.
I was just thinking about this the other day.
In New Jersey, there are a lot of trees that have this gold color to them.
Back in New England where I am from, I would see the fiery red color of the Red Maple and I miss that but every region has it's beauty.
I want to get out and take some walks before the really cold weather sets in (I am/can be a wimp about cold weather - it's kind of a love-hate relationship).
So, that's my personal goal. What's your's this Fall?
#2 - Stranger Things - Last night (10/27/17) Season 2 of Stranger Things dropped on Netflix.
Eric and I got BOTH kids to bed early (that's our October miracle) and watched the first 2-3 episodes.
It's funny how wanting to watch a Netflix show motivates us to be better parents, lol.
That show is so strangely satisfying each episode is from the dialogue, to the titles to the costumes...
#3 - This weeks posts on LLS - Here are all the posts from this past week:
#4 – Here are the 5 most popular recipes on LLS, for the last 7 days:
#5 - Halloween! - Halloween is upon us.
This year Halloween falls on a Tuesday and school and weeknight.
There's always a lot of festivities in our area around this time of year to take in.
What are your Halloween plans?
We love to do the usual trick or treating and watch some Halloween shows/movies around this time of year.
I didn't do a lot of Halloween decorations this year, just Fall-themed ones like little pumpkins we grew in our garden.
#6 - Getting Fit Again and Recovery Update - As some of you know, I had a childbirth injury at the end of September where my pelvis split when I gave birth to Marc which I am healing from.
I've had some physical therapy which helped but I am still 1-2 months from recovery (I hope). I am no longer needing to be supported by a cane which is awesome.
I still have to wear a brace 24/7 and occasionally take Motrin for pain/swelling.
As of last week, I started driving again which is such a win and helped me feel more back to normal.
I still get stiff when I am in one position for too long and feel the best when I am standing.
After my 6 weeks post-partum OBGYN appointment, I hope to be approved to start exercising so I can get back to my pre-pregnancy weight (I'm about 15-16 pounds away! I think that's doable!).
I've been stalking different local fitness programs and definitely want to check out ones that allow me to have my kids with me.
Getting fit can be harder as we head into Winter but I am pretty determined and actually excited about it.
What are your Halloween plans?

Wow, this really is sweet Saturday! I really need to do something similar as I feel so tired already - and that would most certainly help me rest. Thanks a lot!
