Fresh Herb Salad Dressing
Hi Everyone, it’s summer, and our garden abounds with herbs into late summer, and farmers markets are flush with produce; I want to make use of those fresh herbs like sage, basil, and mint in this Fresh Herb Salad Dressing.
Those herbs infuse nicely into the light Mazola Corn Oil.
3 Health-Friendly Ingredient Swaps
1.) I used Mazola Corn Oil instead of other heavier oil ingredient options (like soy and safflower oil), 2.) I used my Fresh Herb Salad Dressing instead of regular Mayonnaise 3.) I replaced regular mustard, butter, and margarine and swapped corn oil for those ingredients, making this Fresh Herb Salad Dressing. Guess what? September is National Cholesterol Awareness Month, and a clinical study showed Mazola Corn Oil reduces cholesterol 2x more than extra virgin olive oil. To learn more about this claim, see Mazola.com. We like incorporating Mazola Corn Oil into our cooking. Mazola Corn Oil is an all-purpose, cholesterol-free cooking oil that is a smart heart-healthy* choice for your family. *See Mazola.com for more information on the relationship between corn oil and heart health. It has a variety of uses including baking, grilling, sautéing, stir-frying, or mixing up a marinade or dressing.
I love how this Mazola Corn Oil is all-purpose and I can use it in a variety of ways and recipes, making it a versatile kitchen ingredient. Mazola Corn Oil has more cholesterol-blocking plant sterols than other cooking oils – four times more than extra virgin olive oil and one and a half times more than canola oil. Mazola also has a smoke point higher than most cooking oils at 450°F and performs well in a variety of cooking applications. Many home cooks may not realize that all cooking oils have a smoke point that, once exceeded, not only negatively affects the food’s flavor but also its nutritional value.
